Randy has had a long career in the dairy industry, recently retiring after 48 years of cheesemaking. He was a member of the first class of Master Cheese Makers in 1997, and was recognized as a 2005 U.S. Champion Cheesemaker. He has also served on numerous boards, including as President of the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association from 1992-1994. As a CDR mentor, Randy works closely with dairy processing plants and employees and provides support and guidance on a variety of issues including good manufacturing practices, cheese defects, recipe development, ingredient selection, make records, and cheese curing.
