Dr. John Lucey Receives Kraft Heinz Teaching Award in Dairy Manufacturing

On July 19, The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) announced Dr. John Lucey as the 2016 recipient of the Kraft Heinz Teaching Award in Dairy Manufacturing. This award, which recognizes "outstanding teaching of undergraduate students in dairy foods," will be presented on July 21 during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Utah.

Dr. John Lucey currently serves as the Director at the Wisconsin Center for Dairy Research and a Professor of Food Science at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Utilizing the knowledge he has gained over his 20 year career as an educator and researcher, Dr. Lucey provides outstanding leadership to students and CDR staff. Having published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and 20 book chapters Dr. Lucey inspires his students through his own actions and his passionate pursuit of innovation. He is devoted to student success and is proud to encourage students to seek out knowledge that will help to move the dairy industry forward. Nominated by his colleagues, Dr. Lucey is described as dedicated, enthusiastic, well-organized and motivating. Dr. Lucey’s passion for innovation and his drive to improve the dairy industry can all be seen through his exceptional classroom leadership and his continued efforts to move the dairy industry forward.
