A Dairy Bright Idea

Invest In The Campaign To Secure Wisconsin & North America’s Dairy Future

The Wisconsin Center for Dairy Research (CDR) invites you to join the Campaign to Secure Wisconsin & North America’s Dairy Future.

For more than 25 years CDR has been working to provide industry with outstanding service in the areas of research and innovation. Each year, CDR delivers knowledge and solutions to more than 200 dairy/food companies and provides education and outreach to thousands of industry members. These efforts have led to positive industry partnerships and continued success for the Wisconsin dairy industry and beyond.

As opportunities for the U.S. dairy industry continue to grow, CDR must be equipped with a modern, state-of-the-art facility that will allow staff to provide the research and services needed to maintain this success. The Campaign to Secure Wisconsin & North America’s Dairy Future will rebuild and renew Babcock Hall, home to CDR and the Food Science program. A larger, better Babcock Hall will allow CDR and industry to grow, discover and take advantage of greater innovations.

The new, state-of-the-art facility will include:
  • Dedicated facility for protein fractionation and powder drying
  • Specialty ripening rooms to manufacture and experiment with mold and surface ripened cheese
  • Modern facilities and more space for industry training and education
  • A cultured products suite that will pave the way for new products such as Greek yogurt
  • A modern milk intake area and dairy plant to provide students with hands-on, industry relevant experience

To make the $32 million dollar facility a reality, 50% of the total cost must be provided by industry, alumni and friends of CDR.
